The Shining

Feeling in the mood for a good horror movie last night, but not wanting to risk seeing a crappy one, I watched "The Shining." Although not (in my opinion) the best horror movie ever made (mainly because I'm not a big fan of Stephen King), Kubrick's direction and Nicholson's acting in this movie are so over-the-top brilliant that it made for an extremely enjoyable watch.

I've heard good things about a Swedish vampire film called "Let The Right One In" that just came out on DVD.

Yes, that movie is excellent. It even made my list of the top five movies of 2008.

I highly recommend it.

HOW could I have missed that on the list? Thanks for the link, btw.

I heard that the US DVD uses a crappily translated version of the subtitles to a degree which affects the quality of the film, so I'm waiting a few more months until they re-release the new version with the proper subs. Now I truly feel ignorant for not seeing at the art-house theater here in town.
