It's Official

I have officially decided that the only good movie that has ever existed and featured Stephen Baldwin in at least a semi-prominent role is The Usual Suspects.

Now, I will grant that I have not seen all of S. Baldwin's movies, or even most of them. But as I peruse the vast vaults of IMDB.com, it seems fairly clear that S. Baldwin has only been in one good movie. Ever.

If you take issue with this, please state your case.

There is no argument to made against your postulation.

Many others know Stephen as "the born-again Christian Baldwin."

Unfortunately, Jesus has NOT saved his career. Amazon.com will sell anything, including literary garbage, yet usually for each piece of trash, there is a short blurb from some random book reviewer about the merits of said piece of trash. Here is the blurb from Baldwin's recent religious fiction novel:

"In recent years, Baldwin (The Unusual Suspect) has put his acting career on the back burner in order to develop his Christian ministry. Not surprisingly, his foray into fiction writing is part detective movie and part sermon. Religious fiction sometimes sacrifices plot development to preach a message, and Baldwin, unfortunately, is unable to avoid this temptation. The lead character, Det. Andy Myers, responds to a call and finds a boy he knows who appears to have been brutally murdered. The boy's father, an ex-con and recent born-again Christian, does not seem to be fazed by his son's death, believing him to now be in a better place with God. Myers is appalled by the father's lack of emotion and goes on a crusade to make sure he is convicted of his son's murder. Myers is the most three-dimensional character in the book and is developed with some skill. But he is surrounded by a number of unbelievable figures who obfuscate an uneven plot that ultimately does not satisfy."

BURRRRRRNNNNNNNNNNED!

Ahhhhhahahahahaha.

I just remembered Baldwin was also in that series that aired on ABC from 1989-1992 (and then later on the Disney Channel, which is where I saw back in, I think, 1993-94ish) "The Young Riders."

Surprisingly, that show actually won a couple of Emmys in its day.

Not surprisingly, none of them were for acting.

I think you have to watch all his movies, even TV programs, to judge this man fairly. Only then will you be properly punished, er, I mean, properly fit to judge his acting ability.

That is a challenge that even I dare not undertake. I think he's even been in some "Christian" movies, so that would simply be too painful to bear.
